How do you install the blade on the LimbSaw LSC?

Installing a new blade on an LSC model limb saw involves loosening the guard bolts, removing the cotter pin and castle nut, lining up the flat spots, tightening the castle nut, and reinstalling the cotter pin and guard.

Installing a new blade on a limb saw can be a daunting task, but with the right steps and tools, the process can be relatively straightforward.

Step 1: Loosen the Guard Bolts

The first step in installing a new blade is to loosen the four bolts that hold the guard in place. This will make it easier to slide the guard off and access the blade.

Step 2: Remove the Cotter Pin and Castle Nut

Once the guard is off, use a pair of pliers to remove the cotter pin and castle nut. These two components are what hold the blade in place and must be removed in order to install a new one.

Step 3: Line Up the Flat Spots

When installing the new blade, make sure to line up the flat spots on the outer washer with the markings that you made earlier. This will ensure that the washer is in the correct position and will not spin when you tighten it up.

Step 4: Tighten the Castle Nut

Use an inch and a quarter socket or wrench to tighten the castle nut, making sure to use a punch to hold the blade in place while you do so. This will ensure that the blade is securely in place.

Step 5: Reinstall the Cotter Pin and Guard

Once the blade is securely in place, reinstall the cotter pin and put the guard back on, securing the bolts. With these steps, you should have successfully installed a new blade on your LSC model limb saw.

Tips:

An inch and a quarter socket can be used to loosen the castle nut instead of an inch and a quarter wrench since it's not going to fit.

Mark the side of the outer washer that goes to the blade, and make sure the limb saw logo goes to the motor.

Installing a new blade on an LSC model limb saw may seem like a daunting task, but with the right steps and tools, the process can be relatively straightforward. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you will be able to install a new blade quickly and efficiently.
